Commercial Recycling

Most businesses must recycle and report these items by February 1:

  • Office paper, cardboard, magazines, shredded paper, newspapers, and phone books
  • Glass, bottles, cans, and plastics
  • Hazardous waste, such as the following:
    • Batteries
    • Computers and electronics
    • Florescent tubes and CFL bulbs
    • Oil and oil filters
    • Paints, varnishes, pesticides, etc.

How do you report these? The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection provides form 4500-FM-SW0011 4500-FM-SW0012 4500-FM-SW0013

I have a small business. Does this apply to me? Most likely, yes. We recommend contacting your county recycling coordinator from this list to confirm the requirements of your municipality.  As well, please don’t hesitate to give us a call at Commonwealth Computer Recycling for a free consultation to talk about your business’s needs.
