A Test Engineer (or Software Tester)

ensures high-quality, reliable, and functional software by creating test plans, designing test cases, and identifying bugs before product release. They collaborate with developers, analyze system specifications, perform manual and automated testing, and document results. Key skills include attention to detail, proficiency in testing tools, and strong analytical thinking.

 

Key Responsibilities
    • Test Development: Create, maintain, and execute comprehensive test cases and plans based on requirements.
    • Quality Assurance: Perform functional, integration, performance, and regression testing to ensure software meets quality standards.
  • Bug Reporting: Identify, document, and report bugs, glitches, or errors to the development team, then verify fixes.
  • Automation: Utilize automation tools to increase test coverage and reduce manual errors.
  • Collaboration: Work with developers and product managers to understand requirements and troubleshoot issues.
Requirements and Skills
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Tester or Test Engineer.
  • Tools: Familiarity with testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit), bug tracking software (e.g., Jira), and API testing tools.
  • Methodologies: Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development frameworks and STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle).
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read code and understand software architecture.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting.
Educational Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
