LEGAL NOTICE
NOTICE is hereby given that City Council of the City of Butler will resume in-person, public meetings of council, beginning with the regularly scheduled council meeting of June 24, 2021 at 7:00 PM, in Council Chambers in the City Building, 140 West North Street, Butler, PA 16001.
Mayor Smith called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Mayor Smith and Council members Walter, Smith, Bonus and Dandoy were present. The pledge of allegiance to the flag followed an invocation given by Pastor Theo Edwards, First Baptist Church.
Motion by Mayor Smith with a second from CM Dandoy to approve the agenda for the regular meeting of June 24, 2021. All voted aye. Agenda approved.
Motion by Mayor Smith with a second from CM Dandoy to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of June 10, 2021. All voted aye.
Motion by Mayor Smith with a second from CM Bonus to acknowledge receipt of the monthly minutes from RACB, including the CDBG/HOME Program activities. All voted aye.
MONTHLY BOARDS AND AUTHORITIES LIAISON REPORTS
Liaisons of the City’s boards and authorities gave a brief report from the board or authority that met in May.
MONTHLY DEPARTMENT REPORTS

Motion to accept the monthly reports from the Office of the City Clerk, the Police Department, Fire Department, Office of Business & Community Development/Code Enforcement, Department of Public Works, and Parking Department for the month of May. Motion by Mayor Smith. Second by CM Bonus. All voted aye.
COUNCIL REPORTS/ACTIONS
Councilman Walter
Councilman Walter distributed the 2022 budget binders and discussed the timeline.
Councilman Smith
1.Motion to accept the bid from Chris Richardson in the amount of $4,600.00 for the sale of one 1998 Kubota B7300 HSD Tractor 4 x 4 that is surplus to the needs of the City’s Parks Department. Second by CM Bonus. All voted aye.
Councilman Bonus
2.Motion to approve the purchase and installation of a garage door for the streets department in the amount of $x,xxx.xx from XXXXXX. LIN 01 455 255. Second by Mayor Smith. CM Bonus made the following “friendly amendment” to the motion:
Motion to approve the purchase and installation of a garage door for the streets department in the amount of $2,850.00 from James L. Abbott, General Contractor, LLC. LIN 01 455 255. All voted aye.

3.Based on recommendation from his chain of command and satisfactory completion of his probationary period, motion to grant permanent employment status as of June 18, 2021 to Patrol Officer Vincent Beaver. Second by CM Bonus. All voted aye.
The City Treasurer presented a Monthly Intake Report for May 2021.
The City Controller presented bills for payment as follows: from the general fund – $134,527.56; from the parking fund – $26,347.50; from the capital projects fund – $8,003.54 and from the liquid fuels tax fund – $2,716.50; for a grand total of $171,595.10. Motion by Councilman Bonus with second from Mayor Smith to approve payment of bills as presented. All voted aye.
June Public Announcement – Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4)
As part of an ongoing education plan, we would like to remind local residents to properly store pool and spa chemicals, as well as other household and vehicle chemicals to prevent leaks and spills. Please make sure they are in sealed containers that will not rust or leak and try to keep them in a dry place, preferably in covered areas to avoid exposure to stormwater.

PERSONS TO BE HEARD:
Everett Roy, Butler Hip Hop, spoke about the community service the group provides to the City on Saturdays.
Mayor Smith adjourned the meeting at 7:33 PM.
