Beginning on Saturday, October 14, 2017, residents of the City may begin disposing of leaves at a designated area in the City’s Memorial Park.  The City has issued the following guidelines pertaining to use of the area.

Signs will direct users to the designated area that will be open from 8:00am to 2:30pm Mondays through Fridays, and from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on weekends and holidays.  The area is scheduled to be open through the month of November.  Only the designated area may be used for leaf disposal.

Leaves will be added to an existing compost area.  They must be removed from plastic bags, and no materials used to carry the leaves are to be left at the leaf drop area.  The area is to be used for disposal of leaves only.  Dumping of brush, rubbish, and garbage is prohibited.

The curbside collection service is provided by the City’s Streets Department.  Residents may call the department at (724) 285-8440 when all the leaves have fallen in their neighborhood or for more information.

Any City resident who intends to dispose of leaves by burning them on private property must contact the Fire Department at (724) 283-3100 for instructions.
